Gaia Alari is a magical self-taught illustrator

There is a magical animated article published in this week’s New York Times illustrated by self-taught illustrator and animator Gaia Alari. She specializes in a traditional frame-by-frame style of hand animation. I highly recommend it! Paywall alert: if you are not a New York Times subscriber I so highly recommend you request a friend who does subscribe to gift the article to your for free (I am able to gift up to a certain number of articles each month so if you email me with your email address I would be happy to gift it to you—my email is in the footer of this page). The article is called Walnut and Me, written by New York Times staff writer Sam Anderson, and it is utterly magical: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/05/31/magazine/dog-animals-death-mortality.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare&sgrp=c-cb
