Upcoming exhibit of poster works (and new, ultra-sharp photographs of his father's trout flies) by the wondrous artist, Lance Hidy
Lance Hidy’s poster work is like poetry in visual form. An exhibit of these, plus his new, ultra-sharp photos of his father’s trout flies, opens this weekend at the Newburyport Art Association. It will run for two weeks, through December 3, 2024. The reception is this Saturday, November 23, from 4 to 6 pm:

In his own words, here is Lance’s announcement about his show:
“The show contains mostly posters, but also one wall of my new, ultra-sharp photographs of my father's trout flies. Vernon S. ‘Pete’ Hidy, who died in 1983, is recognized internationally as a major figure in the sport of fly fishing, including his contributions to the centuries-old craft of fly tying. Fly tiers must learn about river ecosystems, and the life cycles of mayflies, caddis flies, and stone flies that sustain trout populations. For this reason, fly fishers have become leaders in river conservation, and practice catch-and-release.”
